My photos explained

I apologize for not getting the new images in the actual post. This time 3 were added to general photos with a brief explanation of where, why or how. I know there is a better way, I just don't know how to do it.

"Kabin" in the woods

On Tuesday we are taking the grandkids to a KOA campground in Sequim, the sunny side of Washington. We are not quite camping but have a "Kabin" with beds, no bathroom or cooking facilities. So it's really like camping, cooking outdoors, no tv, computer, refrig etc. Don't even know if they have electricity but they do have a pool and lots of activities nearby. Packed up tons of art supplies, both kids like to draw and paint. My hubbies b'day happens then so will make crowns and celebrate once my daughter comes for the weekend. I've been doing more rusted shibori, using vintage jewelry findings that I let rust and tie them individually in silk. Have a nice collection going and plan on making scarves with some added screen printing. Finished a printmaking class and have fallen in love with Polyester Plate Printing, possibilities are endless. You laser print an image on the plate then ink it up and print. Can also draw with a sharpie or pen and ink that up as well. This is my new favorite art tool. My prints are still drying at school and will photograph them when I return.  I've been waking up at night planning my next image and how I want to combine them with collage and Polaroid transfers. Also have been doing collagraphs and making plates, printing with water based inks. I have a Photography Studio (portrait) and am phasing out of studio work, so will make it a printing studio after a studio sale this Nov.  It's hard to give up however, makes a great room for classes but the printing press needs to be in a user friendly area, not squeezed into a corner of the basement. Also can set up the kiln there, bought one a year ago and still not out of it's box. With all this going on will never get bored. Actually can only remember 1-2 days when I experienced any inkling of boredom. Feel fortunate I am easily amused. Will add some photos of a few recent things.

Home again

Had a great time at Art Unraveled teaching and taking. Taught Polaroid Transfers for 2 evenings, took a polymer clay class from Lisa Pavelka, and did vendors day. Well worth the headache of packing for the trip but glad to be back home. Definately not a hot weather gal. Hoping my students send images of their work to post, just didn't have room to pack my Nikon. Really do need to get a little digital for everyday memory taking. Came home to 70 degree weather, now in the 80's but due to revert back to our normal 70's. That is quite comfortable for me. Busy cleaning my photo and art studio, having a group of artists over next week so am highly motivated. Plus the grandkids are on vacation so have no distractions. I wish I had a better memory for names and faces. After blog reading today, see that many people I've read about or even met in the past were there. If I didn't acknowledge anyone please don't be offended, just say hi next time! Off to take a nap in the hammock, nice breeze blowing. T

nno

Packing madly for Art Unraveled in Phoenix. I'm up to my usual, waiting for the last moment. Also haven't photographed any of the new work I've done. I'm a photographer, what's up with that? I'll be teaching Image and Emulsion  Polaroid Transfers, vending, and taking one class. Have a printing class today and a neighborhood potluck tonight. It's for neighborhood night out where the street is closed to traffic, set up grills and picnic tables in the middle of the street and you encourage the kids to literally "play in the street". It's a countrywide celebration for those who want to celebrate. You just have to register your street with the city. We have 4 new babies on our street, should make for an enjoyable evening. A great way to get to enjoy your neighbors.
